Supporting Educators in the Empowerment of Students and Teachers
Supporting Educators in the Empowerment of Students and Teachers
Thanks for visiting the TLCS Website. Here is a little more information about me and my perspective on the work of helping educators meet their goals.
If you are working in a school or a district office, I have likely worn many of your hats. I know firsthand how challenging our work is, how complex its layers are, how precious every minute is, and how hard it is to be good at what we do. Juxtaposed to that, I also know how critical it is that we help every student find a pathway to a future that empowers them to bring their unique gifts to our world.
Early in my undergraduate work, a wise instructor gave my Human Growth and Development Class the assignment of writing our obituaries. While I was not yet 20 years old, I wrote that I would work across my career in education to improve the schools that our students experience. More than three decades later, I can look across my career and know that I have continually worked toward those idyllic hopes of a college sophomore.
As a teacher, I have had the opportunity to work in a range of schools, K-12, from the most traditional settings to the most non-traditional ones. Similarly, I have been blessed to teach, coach, and guide some of the most at-risk students along with some of the most secure and well-supported. As a school leader, I have worn multiple hats, including being a teacher leader, an Alternative School Director, a 1300-student High School Assistant Principal and Interim Principal, a 500-student K-5 Elementary School Principal, a District-Level Program Developer, a Grant Writer, and a Director of Education.
If you have come to TLCS looking for some additional support for the educators and students whom you work with, please know that I am fully committed to leveraging my skills and experiences to help you continue the critical work of making our schools better places for kids, more supportive for all staff and administrators, and more effective for our communities. Working with me means that I will do everything that I can to support the goals of our work and your school’s mission as a whole. Please take a look at our testimonials page for more on working with me.
